A groundbreaking project titled "Research on Key Technologies for Submarine Cable Operation Monitoring and Rapid Fault Diagnosis in Offshore Wind Power" by China Longyuan Power Group Corporation Limited, a subsidiary of CHN Energy, has recently been certified as reaching internationally leading technological standards through expert appraisal.
This innovation has filled a domestic technological gap in submarine cable magnetic field detection, marking a major breakthrough in China's underwater inspection capabilities for offshore wind power.
The project developed the industry's first integrated offshore wind power inspection platform, pioneering the application of a comprehensive acoustic-optical-electric-magnetic scanning technology system. This advancement enables precise fault location for submarine cables and 3D seabed terrain modeling. Successfully implemented in coastal provinces including Jiangsu and Fujian, the technology has established an unmanned operation model combining surface unmanned vessels with underwater robots.
The achievements have significantly reduced cable fault localization time and maintenance costs, while enhancing intelligent operation management in offshore wind power. This technological progress provides crucial support for China's expansion of offshore wind energy into deeper waters.
