As of July 15, CHN Energy has implemented 24 sludge co-firing projects across locations including Changzhou and Qingshan, cumulatively processing 2.2775 million tons of municipal sludge and other solid waste. This initiative has effectively expanded the Group's comprehensive “power generation+”energy services business while providing innovative solutions for urban environmental management.
The technology blends treated sludge into coal-fired boilers in fixed proportions for co-incineration, achieving both harmless disposal and resource utilization of solid waste.
Leveraging its scale advantage in coal-fired power, the Group has delivered notable results from multiple projects. The Changzhou project has processed 495,000 tons of sludge with technology recognized as internationally leading. The Jianbi Power Plant project has co-fired over 402,000 tons, while the Qingshan Thermal Power Plant project has disposed of 188,000 tons and secured 15 invention patents.
In the first half of 2025 alone, CHN Energy projects co-fired 402,000 tons of sludge. This technology effectively alleviates urban sludge disposal pressure, reducing landfill space requirements and greenhouse gas emissions. The Group is now advancing technical optimization and exploring more efficient models for co-processing solid waste.
